After giving my baby (7 mos old) the prunes and plum combinations, she went very smoothly. She had some constipation before starting on the prunes and afterwards, she was a happy pooper! Our 7 month old really did not like any of combinations included in this variety pack. This may be specific to our baby, but it seemed to be a texture issue. Even if he seemed to like the taste-- he made himself gag trying to get it out of his mouth and didn't want to swallow it. He seems to be sensitive to texture anyway, so maybe this just wasn't a good choice for him. He does like the Earth's Best fruit variety pack, but any of the fruits mixed with grains were a definite no go. The nanny and I both even tried thinning down the mixture with breast milk or formula, and he still did not like it and spit it out. I would recommend trying one jar before you buy the variety pack because I had to give these away.

My daughter loves these dinners. There's no other organic meat option at my grocery store, so we're stuck with this one, but I don't mind at all. I think they're great. I agree that they are runny, but you can just thicken it with whole grain cereal, and problem solved (turkey dinner is thick enough). I also don't understand why people complain that they are too sweet, or unhealthy. First of all, if you don't like the ingredients, buy something else. Second, I trust Earth's Best enough to believe they know the right amount of stuff to put in their product. Third, the belief that if baby tastes sweet food, they will not eat regular food, is an old wife's tale. Are you people saying that you don't give your babies fruit and vegetables? They are all sweet.

The only reason I gave this particular item 4 stars instead of five, is the price. I can buy it at my grocery store for 79 cents a jar. Here, they are being sold for over 91 cents. And that's at the sale price. If you buy these at the regular price, it comes to $1.41. Way too much!

We discovered Earth's Best when my oldest started solids years ago. They had a more limited selection then, but offered more variety than the "regular" brands. For him, we only bought a few jars each trip, those flavors that we couldn't get in another brand. For our second child, we added a few more. With the 3rd baby, we started out on the larger brands, but he wouldn't eat them. Who can blame him!? They're runny and lacking any flavor. Not to mention, no matter how good sweet potatoes are, how many jars can you eat? He gobbles up every jar of Earth's Best without any problems. When we introduce a new flavor, he's all for it.



I agree with other posts that some of the flavors are very runny. We just add a few tsp. of cereal and problem solved.



Earth's Best is more expensive. I calculated that every 2 weeks of food costs me $15 more than buying the other brands. However, we decided that since he eats it all (vs. being very picky with other brands) it's a wash.



If you want to use Earth's Best for your baby w/out breaking the bank, try these tips:

*Visit Earth's Best's website and print off all the coupons they'll allow (usually 3), have family and friends do the same



*Buy at Whole Foods. They have good prices and when you buy a lot, they give you a bulk discount



*You can also buy them by the case at Meijers for less than $10.00, cheaper than here!

I agree with a previous reviewer - when it comes to the dinners (just about all of the Earth's Best choices) they are watery and SWEET. Apples (or some other fruit) in just about everything, and the first ingredient is nearly always water. I've decided to stay away from these as much as possible and purchase protein-containing dinners from another jarred brand (or mixing my own). I'd really rather not nurture a sweet tooth at such a young age!



The Earth's Best fruits and vegetables for the most part are great - just check the label to make sure water isn't the first ingredient listed (I just love how baby food will have water listed first but then some kind of flour added as well to thicken it up).

I bought this pack a couple of weeks ago and my daughter seems to enjoy all the fruit flavors. Yes the bananas are a little different color but they seem to be ok and she likes them just the same as the other two flavors. Target near me offers them in this size for $.53 a jar but only in two of the fruit flavors so for a slight more variety it is worth the price and it is all natural too! I would recommend this product to other moms!

Be warned: the bananas in this variety pack are DISGUSTING! The apples and pears taste good, like the fresh fruit tastes. The bananas however are quite nasty and do not taste anything like fresh bananas. It might be because of the citric acid in them, but it's got a funky smell and a tangy bite to it. Even the color is off. I bought this variety pack thinking I was getting a deal this way, but now that I'm throwing away all four jars of the banana it's ended up being quite expensive. I won't be buying the variety pack again. I'll buy jars of apple and pear again, but I'll be sticking with fresh bananas from here on.

My babies love blueberries the most and over time they like pears and apples a lot too. This is a clear winner with them as it has only organic apples, organic blueberries and absorbic acid. It's a great product.



Be warned that your shipment could arrive sometimes with broken jars. I have these cases being delivered constantly, different varieties of Earth's Best subscriptions, and have had many incidents of broken jars.



Over time I figured out it would cost the vendor too much to package these jars well enough to ensure no breakage. Now when a case arrives with one or more broken jars, I report it and can get credited for the broken ones only. Of course it's messy when a jar is broken, but I don't have a store nearby that sells this product for this price. I know some stores have a better price but those aren't near me.

We like these because 1) they are organic and 2) they mix fruits and veggies together so baby gets the sweet taste of fruit (which he prefers) with the the extra health of veggies. The carrot tomato is the least popular in our household and the sweet potato apricot is the most popular. Our boy especially liked these when he was a bit younger - as he gets older, they seem to be a little too liquid-y for him. It would be nice if they made thicker purees. However, he still loves these and it is a great way for him to get his veggies. We love the subscribe and save so they just show up at the door and I am not always having to run to the store to get them.

I purchased this variety pack hoping that my baby would like Earth's Best babyfood because it's organic and stored in glass. Like it, she LOVES it! Even the peas! I am so happy with this product.
